Our Work

Living Springs,

Governors Bay

about this project

Since 2020, we have had the privilege of providing fencing for Living Springs at Governors Bay. Because the materials we use typically carry a 50-year warranty, we make it a point to use only the best practice techniques. This ensures every fence we build stays fit for purpose and stands strong for the entire life of the materials.

A significant part of our work here involves helping retire farmland to make way for native trees. One highlight was securing a 4-hectare heritage plantation on the hill country; our fencing has been instrumental in keeping livestock out so these young trees can thrive.

We have also installed specialised fencing to protect waterways that flow directly into the head of Lyttelton Harbour. We take great pride in knowing our work plays a crucial role in improving the long-term health of the harbour and the land we all share.

ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Since 2023, we’ve been proud to deliver specialist hill country fencing for the Summit Road Society across the iconic Christchurch and Lyttelton sides of the Port Hills.

The Society manages large tracts of land with extensive public walking tracks and ongoing native rewilding projects. As part of this work, we provide rural fencing solutions that protect livestock, support conservation planting, and stand up to the unique demands of this exposed landscape.

Challenging Terrain, Specialist Approach

Fencing in the Port Hills is true hill country fencing. Steep faces, limited access, and rocky ground require experience, specialist equipment, and the right techniques to achieve a high standard finish. As experienced fencing contractors in Christchurch, we use purpose-fit machinery and proven installation methods to ensure every post is secure and every line is straight - even in the toughest ground conditions.

Built for Fire-Prone Country

With the ongoing risk of wildfire in the Port Hills, all fencing installed for the Society is full steel construction. Unlike traditional timber options, steel farm fencing is designed to withstand fire events.

Should a fire burn through the area, the fence remains structurally sound and livestock-proof, avoiding the significant cost of full replacement. It’s a long-term investment that delivers durability, safety, and reliability in challenging rural environments.
